Wednesday Febuary the 3rd is a day Bernard Pauwels from Belgium will never forget. It's the day he fired 898 using his Storm Virtual Gravity scoring games of 300, 300 and 298.

We caught up with Bernard on Facebook to ask him about the amazing series. Here is what he had to say.

bernard001.jpgFirst of all Bernard, how long have you been bowling?

I have been bowling since the age of 21 years, I started to enjoy myself and I quickly developed a taste for competition.

Prior to your amazing 898 series what was your highest three game total?

My biggest score was then 844, 288-300-256

At what point in the record breaking series did you begin to feel the pressure of being on a 900 series?

I started to feel pressure at the start of the 3rd game and more and more until the 12th frame

What was going through your mind as you released the final ball?

I thought of the 900, and all the people behind me who encouraged me, I could not believe it.

What arrow or line did you play and did you have to move around the lane as the oil pattern broke down?

I played 15-10 and I did not have to change much.

virtual_gravity.jpgYou bowled the 898 with a Storm Virtual Gravity, what is it about this ball that you like?

I love its impact and stability, as with all the balls Storm make.

Have Storm bowling contacted you since you rolled the awesome series?

No not yet but I only play with Storm balls.

With your new found bowling fame does life seem somewhat different now?

Yes, I had many messages of thanks from players around the world and I had great difficulty achieving the score that I did. It has been incredible.

Where did your nickname "Mimi" come from?

The nickname was given tome when I was 15 years old in Belgium and France.

Do you have any plans to play more on the European bowling tour?

I try to play on the EBT close to home, France and Belgium and in the Netherlands sometimes, but I have a family and two children and I have to take care of them. This was the first time my children came to see me play and I hit 898, it was fantastic. I would like to thank all who believed in me and encouraged me.
